About this deal

DUE TO THE CURRENT HIGH DEMAND, DELIVERY TIME FOR BIKES IS 7-10 DAYS. ALL PARTS AND ACCESSORIES ARE STILL 1-2 DAYS. As for it being lighter a Double Down or Super gravity tyre is approx 200g heavier than a trail tyre and a DH tyre is 200g further so whichever tyre you usually run one step up in tyre is only 200g vs 290 for cushcore. Go Bigger- CushCore improves suspension performance by 16% and reduces impact force from big hits by 50%. Send it with total confidence. It feels like far more of a system. It’s not something to be used with your normal pressures but rather in conjunction with the lower pressures enabled by running the insert. The grip was fantastic. The firmer feeling is not dissimilar to running a heavier compression tune. It thudded through everything it came across and it felt amazing. It rewards you the more you push and I consider it to be a performance product aimed at people who don’t merely want to protect their rims from occasional impacts, but rather people who need inserts to enable them to run lower pressures without them immediately breaking wheels. It is still possible to get a flat with CushCore - for example, in the case of a tyre sidewall slice. While CushCore is not intended to be a run-flat tyre, it is possible to "limp home" short distances with reduced risk of rim damage. Trailside repair is also possible using the same approach riders use with standard tubeless. Tyre plugs are a great option.

Welcome to the two-part insert test. First up, some visual comparisons and my initial assessment of how they feel. The second part will feature a data led approach with impact resistance and real-world telemetry testing. Stay tuned for part two!Not all tyre inserts are created the same. CushCore is no ordinary tyre insert and is based on a new concept, tyre what i will do next is remove the tubeless valve and cut a small section out which will hopefully give the option to normally add sealant or remove air. CushCores patented profile applies constant pressure on the tyre sidewalls. This provides protection and stability even at low tyre pressures. The insert also adds sidewall support, which helps keep the tire from folding over in hard turns. Even at silly low pressures it feels like it's only the top 1/3 of the tires that's really moving around – the rest stays the same shape thanks to the insert, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the tire to burp or peel off. There's a more muted feeling when you hit something hard, similar to the way a dead blow hammer behaves, or a medicine ball. In rough sections of trail it felt like my rear wheel wasn't getting bounced around as much, giving the bike a more planted feeling - it's genuinely impressive how much of a difference such a simple product can make.

There's no getting around it – installing a CushCore system can be a royal pain in the ass. A lot of that has to do with the tire / rim combination, and familiarity with the process. Once you've done one install, the next one is easier – at the very least you'll know what to expect. CushCore transforms your tubeless tyre into a suspension system with a tune-able air spring and foam damper. my solution: wrap the noodle in fibre glass tape at 90deg to the direction that the rim will impact it, the tape will not tear and will give the noodle that outer skin it needs.PRO PLUS - All the performance benefits of the PRO, but optimized for plus sized tyres and wider rims. CushCore improves suspension performance by 16% and reduces impact force from big hits by 50%. Send it Every single one of these inserts improved the performance of my tires. If I were to separate them, I would say the Vittoria, Rimpact and CushCore offer the most support. The other three, while definitely offering a lot, are better used in conjunction with slightly higher pressures. If it’s all out support you’re after then I would say the Rimpact offers an equal amount, if not even more, than the CushCore but both are leading in this regard. The Vittoria does offer a similar feel to these two, but that stability is not so pronounced in turns. i will admit the one and only thing maybe worthwhile with cushcore is stopping rim dents with lower pressures as i have dented rims (although never causing a puncture) but the weight and fitting hassle just isn't worth this alone. If this is the future, rims need to be made for optimal mating of the tire and insert in the rim. As it stands now, inserts make installation really difficult, add a lot of weight and provide a limited improvement in terms of puncture resistance, tire support etc.
