About this deal

Another thing I also loved about this book was the incorporation of the journal prompts because it felt like I had the opportunity to look back upon my life, my choices, my thoughts and my feelings and then put them on paper so that I can get some kind of satisfaction and healing. It felt like the same 5 topics were the only things touched on for the entire book and I ended up losing interest halfway through. This book encouraged me to be more gentle, kind, patient, empathetic and understanding towards not only others, but myself as well. I want to begin this review by stating that I will not review the contents of a memoir, because it is someone’s life.

I love Madison, I'm a huge fan of hers, there is so much of her story that I can relate to and unfortunate events that I have also been through. She's candid about her experience with mental health, how she battled suicidal thoughts while making her debut album Life Support, and her recovery since. She wrote that the book will cover “the reality of being signed at twelve, to everything that followed, where i am now, and my journey of reconciling with everything that came before. g. her insecurities, red flags) but maybe that's just because after reading her memoir, i now want to sit down with her and have a conversation about mental health and life experiences. the topics were repetitive, the same paragraphs about internet bullies, her feeling suicidal and about how people shouldn’t be bullies.i have listened to her since 2017 and i’ve even saw her live a few years ago, though i wouldn’t say i’m a fan of her in the way i’m following her moves and i watch her interviews. In an Instagram post on Tuesday (August 8), Madison shared a photo of the memoir's cover along with the caption: "The Half Of It coming to the UK 31.

In The Half of It, Madison pulls back the curtain to show the behind-the-scenes of her journey, from reckoning with mass hate online and the time her private pictures were leaked, to battling suicidal thoughts while making her highly acclaimed debut album, Life Support, and her recovery since then. though it would have been fun if the book went more into dialogue and stories, even happier stories. It hammers home the point, more striking and urgent than ever, that no matter how close the internet may make us feel to people, we truly don’t know the half of it. And it made me angry with the way young women are treated in the US, especially those who have a platform. Fans received a signed copy of the memoir and had the chance to ask Madison questions during a moderated conversation. Some of the things she experienced are so out-of-this-world and made me incredibly furious, since she was an unprotected and hurt child who just needed affection and love. It made me feel like i was spilling all of my thoughts to someone who could relate to me on a very intimate level.

I try to remind myself of the same when I’m struggling—that there’s a version of me in the future that is waiting for me, grateful for the lessons that I’m being taught presently, even if right now they feel pointless. This is no hate towards Madison, I really do love her, but I disliked the organization of this book and the timeline was really confusing to me. The singer shared the news on social media, writing that it felt “truly surreal to be announcing this book” and that she was excited to share her story. I must admit i was never much of a celebrity follower, even when i was in my teenage years, so Madison was not an exception to this rule. Beer also revealed in the interview that the follow-up to her 2021 debut album ‘Life Support’ will be “coming soon”.When I hear the word "memoir," I anticipate a narrative-driven account of a person's life, and The Half of It is far from that.
