About this deal

This is a cute book about Tilly, whose Dad is a scientist who leaves his workplace and finishes off his time machine in the shed out the back. It was a fun read that can get your children learning some things without realising they are doing it.

Tilly and the Time Machine (Paperback) - Waterstones

I want to read more books by the author because I think this book is really good and its made me want to read more of his stories. This is a good and fun way to introduce the kiddos to certain points in history (Queen Victoria, Nelson/Napoleon, 1966 World Cup etc) and there are some sad moments (re: Tilly and the loss of her mum. This book is realistic and tells you a lot of interesting facts about the Victorian times and how they ate. Doctor Who stories are many things: thrilling adventures, historical dramas, tales of love and war and jelly babies.Download or read online Children s Books in Print written by Anonim, published by Unknown which was released on 1987. It happens when Tilly is asleep, and she over-sleeps as her dad usually wakes her up in the morning. I particularly liked the part where Tilly met Queen Victoria because Queen Victoria ate so fast and Tilly only managed to eat one macaroon. In 1989 Edmondson made an appearance in an episode of Blackadder Goes Forth as The Red Baron, arch-nemesis to Mayall's character, Lord Flashheart.

On one level, it is the lively tale of a resourceful seven-and-a-half year-old who finds herself pursuing her inventor dad through famous historical scenes (the Battle of Trafalgar; the 1966 World Cup final; Queen Victoria’s afternoon tea parlour), after the time machine he has built in their garden malfunctions.Folksy, funny illustrations by newcomer Danny Noble (who Edmondson signed up after spotting her on Twitter) add to the charm. I grew up watching The Young Ones, so I was intrigued to see how Adrian Edmondson would harness his mad cap humor and make it suitable for young readers. When Tilly's dad builds a time machine in the shed there's only one place she really wants to go: back to her sixth birthday party, when she ate too many cupcakes and her mummy was still here.
